Planet of the Apes (1968)
A few awful monologues and a completely impossible plotline make for an entertaining but ultimately very flawed bit of pop culture.
PO Box (1995)
Ninety minutes of self-indulgent, self-important nonsense that is no less ridiculous or meaningless than porn and has a distinct '80s feel despite the fact it was made in the mid-'90s.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
Such a beautiful film from a young Miyazaki that would simultaneously reveal to the world what he could do and the shape of sci fi to come.

As Tears Go By (1988)
Wong Kar Wai's directoral debut is vivid both in color scheme and emotional content and displays the preternatural instict this filmmaker has for bringing a story to life.

Beauty and the Beast (1991)
I had never really realized how different this era of Disney films was from, say, "Sleeping Beauty" until I revisited this really funny (and fairly adult friendly) movie.
King Lear (1987)
Godard crafts a strange futuristic nonsense peice about recreating Shakespeare's King Lear from memory after it has been lost, and though it's sort of hard to follow (like a lot of Godard's later work) it's beautiful and I'd love to watch it again.
Danielson: A Family Movie OR Make A Joyful Noise HERE (2004)
I spent a good portion of the film contemplating whether the movie (and indeed the entire Danielson project) was perhaps a mockumentary or elaborate joke, but in either case, this was entertaining enough, with the exception of the musical performances which were difficult to hear due to the amateur style of the cinematography.
Two-Lane Blacktop (1971)
This movie forced me to love James Taylor, Laurie Bird, cars, and itself, despite the improbable nature of the storyline.
Il Postino (1994)
It certainly has its moments, but this may have tried too hard to create a "moral of the story," and ended up doing so at the expense of one of its own warm-hearted characters.
Touch The Sound: A Sound Journey With Evelyn Glennie (2004)
How could I NOT love a beautifully shot documentary about a deaf percussionist who completely kills!?!?!
Blast of Silence (1961)
The best tired-of-everything-New-Yorker voice-over I've ever heard, or will ever hear since it's completely played out by now.

Kerouac, the Movie (1985)
Not an exceptional documentary, but Kerouac is such a fascinating subject that it's worth seeing anyway.

Inception (2010)
I expected this to depreciate a great deal after my first viewing, but on this second viewing I noticed more cinematic strengths and the same amount of drawbacks.

Mystery Science Theatre 3000: Hercules Unchained (1992)
I respect any movie that can make me laugh uncontrolably for five minutes, and that happened three times during this one!
Walmart: The High Cost of a Low Price (2005)
They put into a concise, well organized film the logic behind the rant-inspiring, disorganized rage I've felt for many years.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Valentine's Day Indie Romance Marathon 2/3: One of my all-time favorite movies is perfect whether you're alone or with someone on V Day.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010)
Valentine's Day Indie Romance Marathon Part 1/3: Fighting for love has never been this funny before.

The Fearless Freaks (2005)
While I was not shocked to find that one of my favorite bands has such an interesting story, I was pleasantly surprised to see the documentary about them organized so masterfully by such an inexperienced filmmaker.
The Illusionist (2010)
Delicately written by an immortalized master, wonderfully animated and massively underrated, this is one of my favorite films of the year 2010.

The Triplets of Belleville (2003)
No matter how many times I watch this I still see something new each time, and I still want to see it again immediatly after finishing it.
Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005)
A very informative, well-made documentary that appropriately makes you stoked on the subject matter.
